Welcome to our "Virtual" Founder's Day Celebration! Many of us have heard the story of Gail's mother becoming Queen of the May Pole and how it made her feel, that it was a profoundly special moment in her life. And from that moment, she went on to create opportunities for other children to experience that same exhilarating feeling. In this way, we celebrate the founding of Elizabeth Academy and Garfield Academy, as places where many opportunities exist not only for students to shine with their own beautiful gifts, but also opportunities for students to help each other shine. The May Pole dance exemplifies this, as it is a collaborative process where children work with each other to make it possible for all to experience that thrilling, joyful feeling of accomplishment that Gail's mom experienced many years ago.
